Will planned maintenance affect my room or services?

Planned maintenance may affect your room or services, but this depends on the type of work being carried out. If it does, the Scape team will let you know in advance and explain what to expect.

For example, some work may mean temporary access to your room is needed, or there may be a short interruption to services such as water, hot water, heating, cooling, electricity, lifts or access to a communal area. Where possible, planned works are arranged during reasonable hours to keep disruption to a minimum.

What you can expect

  • Advance notice: you’ll be told before any planned work that affects your room, services or shared spaces.
  • Clear timings: the team will share the expected date, time and duration where this is known.
  • Practical guidance: you’ll be told if you need to do anything, such as keeping access clear.
  • Updates if things change: some repairs can take longer if parts or specialist contractors are needed.

If you have concerns about how planned maintenance may affect your study, sleep, accessibility needs or daily routine, speak to reception or message the team through the Scape app. They’ll help you understand the next steps and any available support.
