Who should I contact if I have concerns about a student’s wellbeing?
If you’re worried about a student’s wellbeing, please take it seriously and reach out for help. Scape’s building teams are available 24/7 and can respond to genuine welfare concerns.
If there is an immediate risk
If you believe the student or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 for emergency support. You should also contact the student’s Scape building Reception as soon as you can so the on-site team is aware.
For general wellbeing concerns
Contact the Reception team at the student’s building. The team can listen to your concern, check what support may be appropriate and take action where there is a genuine welfare issue.
For privacy and safety reasons, Scape cannot usually share information about a resident with a parent, guardian or trusted person without the student’s consent. However, you can still share your concerns with the team. They will use the information carefully and act where needed.
If the student is able to ask for help themselves, encourage them to speak to Reception, message the team through the Scape app or use the wellbeing support available through their university or local services.
