When is my contract officially transferred?

Your contract is officially transferred when the replacement student’s new Residence Agreement with Scape takes effect. Until that point, your original contract remains in place and you are still responsible for rent and any other obligations under your agreement.

Finding someone who is interested in your room does not automatically end your contract. Scape must review and approve the replacement, and the incoming student must complete the required booking steps.

Before the transfer is complete

  • The replacement must be eligible: they need to meet Scape’s student requirements.
  • Scape must approve them: the team will check the details before confirming anything.
  • The new agreement must be signed: the replacement student signs their own Residence Agreement.
  • Payments must be completed: any required payments need to be made before the new contract takes effect.

Once the replacement’s agreement is active, your contract ends and your rent liability stops from that point. Please wait for written confirmation from Scape before moving out, stopping payments or assuming the transfer is complete.
