When do I need to pay any outstanding charges?
If any charges are agreed after you move out, they will usually be taken from your deposit first. This may include charges for cleaning, damage, missing items or replacement access devices.
You’ll be notified of any proposed deductions through the Deposit Protection Service process using the email address registered with your booking. You’ll have the chance to review the charges and either agree or dispute them through the deposit resolution process.
If the agreed charges are less than your deposit, the balance will be returned to you once the process is complete. If the charges are more than your deposit, you may need to pay the remaining balance separately. This balance will usually be due when requested by Scape.
If you dispute a charge, the amount will not usually be finalised until the Deposit Protection Service process has been completed. Keep an eye on your emails after moving out, and contact the Scape team if you need help understanding a charge or payment request.
