When do I need to give notice to move out?

If you are moving out at the end of your fixed-term booking, you usually do not need to give formal notice. Your booking has an agreed End Date, so your room should be fully cleared and returned by the check-out time stated in your booking information or building handbook.

If you want to leave before your End Date, please speak to the Scape team as early as possible. In most cases, you will need to find a suitable replacement student to take over your contract. To do this, you’ll normally need to start the replacement process at least 10 weeks before your End Date.

In some situations, such as an accepted change of study or compassionate circumstances, Scape may consider an early release once the right evidence has been reviewed. If your evidence is accepted, you’ll usually need to give 4 weeks’ written notice.

Before making plans, check your booking documents in your Scape Portal and contact the Scape team so they can guide you through the right process for your situation.
