What’s the difference between a studio, ensuite and shared flat?
The main difference is how much of your living space is private and how much you share with others.
En-suite room
An en-suite room gives you your own private bedroom and bathroom. You will usually share a kitchen and communal areas with other residents, making it a great option if you want privacy for sleeping and studying, with a more social setup for cooking and day-to-day living.
Studio
A studio is fully self-contained. You have your own bed, bathroom and kitchenette in one private space, so you do not need to share your kitchen or bathroom. This is a good choice if you want maximum independence and a quieter, more personal setup.
Shared flat
A shared flat usually means you have your own bedroom and share facilities such as the kitchen, living space and sometimes the bathroom with flatmates. Shared flats are not available at every Scape building, so check availability before booking.
If you want the most independence, a studio is usually the best fit. If you want a balance of privacy, value and meeting people, an en-suite room can work really well. You can compare current options on scape.com/rooms or contact the Scape team for help choosing.
