What type of contract will I sign with Scape?
When you book with Scape, you’ll sign a Residence Agreement. This is the contract that sets out the details of your stay, including your room, dates, rent, payment schedule and the responsibilities that apply while you live with us.
The Residence Agreement is a legally binding document, so it’s important to read it carefully before you sign. It is personal to you as the student, which means it cannot be transferred or assigned to someone else unless Scape confirms this as part of an approved process.
What to know
- It is a common law tenancy: this is the legal form of your agreement with Scape.
- It is not an assured tenancy: this is because Scape operates under ANUK Code membership.
- It starts on your contract Start Date: once the required conditions have been met.
- It covers your stay: including payments, room care, behaviour, deposit terms and cancellation rights.
You’ll be able to review the Residence Agreement during the online booking process and access it again through your Scape account. If anything is unclear, contact the Scape team before signing so we can help you understand what it means.
