What standard should I leave my room in?
Please leave your room in the same standard as it was when you checked in, based on your original inventory, allowing for fair wear and tear. Fair wear and tear means normal signs of everyday use, such as small scuffs or light marks that would reasonably happen over time.
Before you leave, make sure your room is clean, tidy and empty. This includes:
- Clearing all personal belongings, food and rubbish.
- Cleaning surfaces, floors, storage areas and furniture.
- Cleaning your bathroom thoroughly, including the shower, toilet, sink and mirror.
- Cleaning your kitchen area, if you have one, including appliances, cupboards and worktops.
- Removing stains from upholstery, mattresses or carpets where possible.
Damage, missing items, heavy staining, excessive dirt or changes to the room that go beyond fair wear and tear may lead to deductions from your deposit.
If you’re unsure whether your room meets the right standard, ask reception or arrange a pre-checkout inspection before your End Date. The team can help you spot anything that may need attention before you hand back your keys.
