What should I do in a medical emergency?

If you or someone else needs urgent medical help, call 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance. Do not delay calling emergency services while looking for a member of the Scape team.

Once you have called 999, let reception know as soon as it is safe to do so. Scape has team members available 24/7, and trained first aiders may be able to provide initial support while you wait for emergency services to arrive.

Call 999 for situations such as:

  • Serious injury or heavy bleeding.
  • Chest pain, breathing difficulties or loss of consciousness.
  • A suspected stroke, seizure or severe allergic reaction.
  • Someone being at immediate risk of harm.

If the situation is not life-threatening but you need medical advice, call 111 or use NHS 111 online. They can guide you on what to do next.

If you feel unwell, worried or unsure, please speak to reception. The team can help you find the right support, contact emergency services if needed and make sure you are not dealing with it alone.
