What should I do if I need medical help?
If you need medical help in the UK, the right service depends on how urgent it is. You do not have to work it out alone, and help is available at any time.
Where to go for help
- Non-urgent health concerns: contact your registered GP. They can help with general illness, prescriptions, referrals and ongoing health issues.
- Urgent but not life-threatening problems: call NHS 111 for advice, or visit an urgent treatment centre or walk-in centre. NHS 111 is free, available 24/7 and can tell you the best next step.
- Emergencies: call 999 or go to A&E if someone is seriously ill, badly injured or in immediate danger.
If you are not yet registered with a GP, you can still use NHS 111, urgent treatment centres and emergency services. You should register with a GP near your Scape building as soon as you can, so support is easier to access when you need it.
If you feel unwell while living at Scape, you can also speak to reception or message the team through the Scape Student app. Our on-site team may be able to help with basic first aid and can point you towards the right local support.
