What should I do if I have an electrical issue?

If you have an electrical issue, please take it seriously and do not attempt to fix it yourself. Electrical repairs should only be handled by the Scape maintenance team or an approved contractor.

If it is urgent

Contact reception immediately if you notice a total power failure, sparks, smoke, a burning smell, exposed wires or anything that feels unsafe. Reception is available 24/7 and can arrange urgent support.

If you see smoke, fire or there is an immediate danger to life, evacuate safely and call 999 first. Once you are safe, inform reception so the team can support emergency services and other residents.

If it is not urgent

For smaller issues, such as one faulty socket, a light that is not working or an appliance supplied by Scape that has stopped working, log a maintenance request through the Scape app.

  • Describe the fault: explain what is not working and whether it happens all the time.
  • Add the location: include your room number and the exact socket, light or appliance affected.
  • Include photos: only if it is safe to take them.

Do not use affected sockets, lights or appliances until the team has checked them.
