What should I bring with me?
Bring the things that make your room feel like home, plus the practical essentials you’ll need for sleeping, studying, cooking and day-to-day life.
Essentials to pack
- Bedding and linen: bring fire-retardant bedding, including sheets, duvet cover, pillows and pillowcases. This is a UK safety requirement.
- Towels and toiletries: pack bath towels, hand towels and your everyday bathroom items.
- Kitchen items: bring crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, pans and other basics if you plan to cook. Pans must be suitable for induction hobs where these are provided.
- Study items: bring your laptop, chargers, headphones, stationery and anything you need for university work.
- Personal belongings: clothes, shoes, medicines, important documents and the little things that make your space feel yours.
Your room already includes the main furniture, such as a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe or storage, bathroom facilities, Wi-Fi and utilities. Studios also include private kitchenette facilities.
If you’d rather travel light, you can order bedding and kitchen packs in advance through Unpacked. Before you arrive, check your building handbook and pre-arrival emails so you know exactly what applies to your room.
