What is Scape responsible for under the contract?

Scape is responsible for keeping the building and the parts of your room covered by the Residence Agreement in good working order. We want your home to feel safe, comfortable and well looked after, so please report issues as soon as you notice them.

Scape is responsible for

  • The building structure and exterior: including the main fabric of the building and shared areas.
  • Water and electricity installations: making sure these systems are maintained where they form part of the building.
  • Heating and hot water systems: keeping essential systems in working order.
  • Sanitary appliances: such as toilets, sinks and showers provided as part of your room.
  • Mechanical and electrical room fittings: repair of equipment that forms part of your room fixtures and fittings.

Scape is not responsible for damage caused by residents, guests or misuse. You are also responsible for your personal belongings, so we strongly recommend arranging contents insurance for your own items.

Fair wear and tear is allowed, but deliberate, accidental or negligent damage may be your responsibility. If something breaks or stops working, report it through the Scape App or speak to the team so we can help.
