What is considered an emergency repair?
An emergency repair is any issue that creates an immediate risk to your safety, security or the building. If something feels urgent, please contact reception directly rather than logging it through the Scape app.
Examples of emergency repairs
- Total power failure: your room, flat or a wider area has no electricity.
- Flooding or a major active leak: water is spreading, dripping heavily or causing damage.
- Complete loss of heating: especially during cold weather.
- Complete loss of hot water: where no hot water is available in your room or shared facilities.
- Security issues: a broken door, lock or access problem that leaves your room or the building unsecured.
- Electrical danger: sparking, burning smells or smoke from sockets, appliances or fittings.
For emergency repairs, contact reception in person or by phone straight away. Reception is available 24/7 and can arrange urgent support.
Please do not attempt DIY repairs, especially for electrical, plumbing or heating issues. If there is an immediate danger to life, such as fire, serious injury or smoke, call 999 first, then inform reception as soon as it is safe to do so.
