What information can Scape share with parents or guardians?

Scape takes student privacy seriously. This means the team cannot usually share a resident’s personal information with a parent, guardian or trusted person unless the student has given clear consent.

This applies even where the person asking is a parent or has helped with payments. Information Scape cannot normally share without the student’s consent includes account details, contract information, payment status, room details and wellbeing information.

If you have a concern

You can still contact the student’s building Reception if you are worried about them. The team can listen to your concern, record the information and take appropriate action where there is a genuine welfare issue.

Scape may not be able to update you afterwards or confirm personal details, but your concern will still be taken seriously.

How to help the student share information

  • Ask the student to contact Scape directly.
  • Ask the student to give permission if they want someone else involved.
  • Encourage the student to use the Scape app or speak to Reception for support.

If there is an immediate risk to the student or someone else, call 999 straight away.
