What happens to my mail after I move out?

After you move out, any post delivered to Scape for you will usually be returned to sender. Scape cannot forward mail after your End Date, so it’s important to update your address before you leave.

Before moving out, make sure you:

  • Update your address with your university, bank, GP, phone provider and any other important services.
  • Change your delivery address on shopping, food delivery and subscription accounts.
  • Collect anything from your post box, parcel area or reception before you hand back your keys.
  • Provide your forwarding address to Residence Management before departure.

If you’re expecting something important, try to arrange for it to be sent to your new address instead. Parcels, letters or deliveries that arrive after your End Date may not be kept for you and may be returned to the sender.

If you think something has arrived just after you moved out, contact reception as soon as possible. The team will let you know whether they can help, but forwarding cannot be guaranteed.
