What happens if I haven’t completed all pre-arrival steps?

If you have not completed all pre-arrival steps, your check-in may be delayed. In some cases, the Scape team will not be able to issue your keys until everything is complete.

The most important things to sort before you travel are your payments and documents. Your damage deposit and first rent instalment must be paid and cleared before check-in. You’ll also need suitable ID and proof of student status ready when you arrive.

What could delay check-in?

  • Unpaid or uncleared payments: if your deposit or first instalment has not cleared, keys cannot be issued.
  • Missing ID: you’ll need a passport or government-issued ID to verify your identity.
  • Missing student documents: you’ll need proof of student status, such as a student ID, UCAS number or enrolment confirmation.
  • Unconfirmed arrival details: if you have not confirmed your arrival time, check-in may take longer during busy periods.

If you already know there is an issue with a payment, document or another pre-arrival requirement, contact bookings.uk@scape.com as soon as possible. The earlier you get in touch, the easier it is for the team to help you avoid delays on move-in day.
