What documents do I need to travel to the UK?
Before travelling to the UK, make sure you have the right documents ready and easy to access. Keep them in your hand luggage rather than checked baggage, and save digital copies somewhere secure too.
Documents to prepare
- Passport: you’ll need a valid passport. Check it is not close to expiring before you travel.
- Visa or immigration permission: depending on your nationality and course, you may need a UK Student visa or other permission to study in the UK.
- CAS number: if you are applying for a Student visa, your university will provide a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).
- University documents: bring your offer letter, enrolment information and any documents your university has asked you to carry.
- Scape booking details: keep your booking confirmation and building address handy for your journey.
Travel requirements can vary, so always check the latest guidance before you leave. You can use the official UK Government visa checker at gov.uk/check-uk-visa to confirm what applies to you.
If you are unsure about your visa or study documents, speak to your university’s international student support team before travelling. For questions about your room or arrival at Scape, contact your building team.
