How will I be notified of any charges?

If any charges are proposed after you move out, you’ll be notified through the Deposit Protection Service process. The information will usually be sent to the email address registered with your booking, so please make sure your contact details are up to date before you leave.

The notification will explain any proposed deductions from your deposit, such as cleaning, damage, missing items or replacement access devices. You should receive a breakdown so you can understand what the charge relates to.

Once you receive the details, you’ll have the opportunity to review the proposed deductions. If you agree, the deposit process can continue and any remaining balance can be returned to you. If you disagree, you can respond or raise a dispute through the Deposit Protection Service resolution process.

It’s a good idea to keep any useful evidence, such as check-in inventory notes, photos, pre-checkout inspection details or emails from the Scape team. If you have questions about a proposed charge, contact Scape so the team can help explain what has been recorded.
