How can I support the student during move-in?
Move-in is a big moment, and having a parent, guardian or trusted person there can make the day feel much easier.
You’re welcome to come along to support the student as they arrive, unload and settle into their new home. The check-in itself must be completed with the student, as they are the resident, but you can usually be with them at Reception while this happens.
Ways you can help
- Check the student has their ID and any required student documents ready.
- Help plan the journey and arrival time.
- Support with luggage, bedding, kitchen items and room essentials.
- Help the student get familiar with their building, room and key information.
Parking is not usually available at Scape buildings, so it’s best to plan unloading in advance. Some buildings may have temporary drop-off or loading arrangements, but availability can be limited. Contact the building team before arrival if you need guidance.
The student should also check their Scape portal, arrival emails and handbook before move-in so they know what to bring, when to arrive and what to expect. If anything is unclear, the Scape team will be happy to help.
