Do I need to be present during a repair?
No, you do not always need to be present during a repair. For many routine maintenance issues, the Scape team can access your room and complete the work as long as the correct notice and access requirements have been followed.
When you log your maintenance request in the Scape app, include your availability and say whether you would prefer to be present. The team will do their best to take this into account, but some repairs may need to happen within a specific timeframe, especially if they affect safety, essential services or other residents.
When being present can help
- The issue is intermittent: for example, a fault that only happens at certain times.
- The repair is near personal belongings: you may prefer to be there if access is needed around your items.
- You need to explain the problem: being present can help if the issue is difficult to describe.
For emergency repairs, Scape may need to enter your room without notice if there is an urgent safety, security or property risk.
If you are worried about access or cannot be available at the suggested time, contact reception as soon as possible. The team can explain what needs to happen next.
