Where are the fire exits and assembly points?
Fire exits and assembly points are clearly marked in your Scape building. You will find fire safety information on signs around the building and on the fire safety plan in your room, usually on the back of your room door.
Please take a few minutes when you move in to familiarise yourself with:
- Your nearest fire exit.
- An alternative exit route in case your usual route is blocked.
- The location of your assembly point.
- The fire safety instructions for your building.
If you need to evacuate, use the nearest safe stairs and go straight to the marked assembly point. Do not use the lifts, stand in the lobby or wait directly outside the building entrance, as this can block access for emergency services.
Assembly points are positioned a safe distance from the building, usually at least 18 metres away. The exact location can vary by building, so always check the fire safety information in your room and around your residence.
If you are unsure where to go, ask reception or the on-site team. They will be happy to show you the safest route.
