What support is available if a student is struggling?
If a student is struggling, they do not need to handle it alone. Scape’s building team is available 24/7 and can offer initial support, a calm conversation and guidance on where to get more help.
The student can speak to Reception in person or contact the team through the Scape app. Some team members are trained as mental health first aiders, and the team can help signpost the student to appropriate support.
Where to get support
- Scape Reception: for immediate on-site support, practical help and signposting.
- The student’s university: for welfare, counselling, disability support or mental health services.
- NHS 111: for non-emergency medical advice.
- Samaritans: call 116 123 for free, 24/7 emotional support.
If there is an immediate risk to the student or someone else, call 999 straight away.
If you’re a parent, guardian or trusted person and you’re concerned, you can contact the student’s building Reception. Scape may not be able to share personal information without the student’s consent, but the team can listen, assess the concern and take appropriate action.
