What should I look for when viewing a room?
A viewing is your chance to picture daily life at Scape, not just look at the room. Think about how you will sleep, study, cook, relax and get to university from that building.
Things to check
- Room size: does the space feel right for your belongings and routine?
- Storage: check wardrobes, shelves, under-bed storage and desk space.
- Study setup: look at the desk, chair, lighting and whether the room feels calm enough for focused work.
- Kitchen: check whether you would have a private kitchenette or shared kitchen, depending on the room type.
- Bathroom: make sure the setup matches what you are expecting, such as en-suite or shared facilities.
- Communal spaces: look at study areas, social spaces, laundry, bike storage, outdoor areas and any gym facilities.
- Security: ask about reception, key card or fob access and how guests are managed.
- Location: check transport links and how long your journey to university will take.
If anything is especially important to you, ask during the viewing so the Scape team can explain what is included and what may vary by room or building.
