What should I do if there is excessive noise?
If there is excessive noise in your building, try to stay calm and deal with it safely. Everyone has different routines, so a friendly conversation can sometimes solve the issue quickly.
What to do first
- Speak to your neighbour: if you feel safe and comfortable, politely let them know the noise is disturbing you.
- Avoid confrontation: if the situation feels tense, late at night or unsafe, do not approach them.
- Report it to reception: if the noise continues, or you do not feel comfortable speaking to them, contact reception straight away.
- Share useful details: tell the team where the noise is coming from, what is happening and when it started.
Please do not retaliate by making noise back, banging on walls or escalating the situation yourself. Scape takes noise complaints seriously and the team will follow up in line with building guidance and the Code of Conduct.
If the issue is urgent or happening overnight, reception is staffed 24/7 and can help. For ongoing noise problems, keep reporting each incident so the team has a clear record.
