What should I do if I have no heating or hot water?

If you have no heating or hot water, contact reception immediately. Please do not log this through the Scape app first, as the team needs to treat it as an urgent or essential repair and respond quickly.

What to do

  • Contact reception directly: go in person or call your building reception team.
  • Explain what is affected: tell the team whether it is heating, hot water or both.
  • Share the location: include your room number and whether other rooms or shared spaces are affected.
  • Say when it started: let the team know when you first noticed the issue.

Reception is available 24/7, so you can report this at any time. The team will check whether the issue is limited to your room or affecting a wider part of the building, then arrange the right maintenance support.

While you wait, use shared heated areas in the building if your room is cold. Please do not use portable heaters, try to fix heating or hot water systems yourself, or adjust anything that looks unsafe.

If the issue gets worse or you have any safety concerns, update reception straight away.
