What items are not allowed for fire safety reasons?
Some items are not allowed at Scape because they can increase the risk of fire, smoke or electrical faults. Keeping these items out of the building helps protect you, your neighbours and the team.
Please do not bring or use:
- Candles, incense, night-lights or any other open flames.
- Barbecues, shisha or flammable fuels.
- Additional cooking appliances that are not provided by Scape, such as deep fat fryers or pressure cookers.
- Portable heaters, halogen lamps or high-wattage appliances that exceed socket limits.
- Multi-socket cube adaptors.
- E-bikes or e-scooters, unless your building has a specific approved storage or charging process.
- Flammable materials or liquids.
Please also avoid hanging fabric, flags or decorations across walls or ceilings, as these can interfere with detectors and create a fire risk.
Never cover, remove or tamper with smoke detectors, fire doors, fire extinguishers, fire blankets or alarm points. This is a serious breach of fire safety rules and may lead to disciplinary action or your contract being ended.
If you are unsure whether an item is allowed, ask reception before using it.
