What happens if my plans change before move-in?

If your plans change before move-in, contact the Scape bookings team as soon as possible. The earlier you get in touch, the more clearly the team can explain your options.

What happens next depends on the timing and reason for the change. Your booking and contract dates still apply unless Scape confirms a cancellation or change in writing.

Possible options

  • If you are within the cooling-off period: you may be able to cancel and rebook, subject to availability and current pricing.
  • If your study circumstances have changed: you may be able to apply under the relevant policy with supporting evidence.
  • If you simply no longer need the room: you may need to find a Suitable Replacement Person to take over your contract.
  • If you need to arrive later: you can usually check in after your Start Date, but rent still starts from the original contract date.

Email bookings.uk@scape.com with your full name, booking reference, building, current contract dates and what has changed. Please do not assume your booking has changed or been cancelled until Scape confirms this in writing.
