What happens if issues are found during inspection?
If issues are found during your move-out inspection, the Scape team will record them and explain what happens next. This may include cleaning needed, damage to the room or furniture, missing items, stains or anything that goes beyond fair wear and tear.
Any proposed charges will be based on the inspection and your original check-in inventory. If deductions from your deposit are proposed, the Deposit Protection Service will be notified and you’ll be contacted using the email address registered with your booking.
You’ll have the opportunity to review the proposed deductions and respond. If you disagree with a charge, you can raise a dispute through the deposit process. This is designed to be fair and impartial, so make sure you provide any useful evidence, such as photos, emails or inspection notes.
To reduce the chance of issues, attend a pre-checkout inspection where available, clean your room thoroughly, remove all belongings and speak to reception before your End Date if anything is unclear.
