How much notice do I need to give?

If your booking is for a fixed contract, you do not usually need to give notice to move out at the end of your stay. Your contract already has an agreed End Date, so please make sure your room is empty and ready to return by the check-out time in your booking information or building handbook.

If you want to leave before your End Date, the notice or timeline depends on your situation. Please do not simply move out without speaking to Scape first, as you may still be responsible for your rent and other obligations until the correct process has been completed.

For most early departures, you’ll need to find a suitable replacement student to take over your contract. This process usually needs to be started at least 10 weeks before your End Date. Other early release routes, such as accepted change of study or compassionate circumstances, have their own requirements and may involve written notice once your evidence has been reviewed.
