How do payments and contracts work for parents or guarantors?

Scape contracts are made directly with the student, as they are the person living in the room. Parents, guardians and guarantors are welcome to support with payments and paperwork, but the accommodation agreement itself is between Scape and the student.

This means Scape will usually communicate contract details, account information and payment updates with the student. For privacy and security, Scape can’t share personal account information with someone else unless the student has given permission.

Making payments

  • Payments can be made through the student’s Scape portal.
  • A parent or guardian can pay using a card in their own name.
  • There is no need to create a separate parent account.
  • The student should check their portal for payment amounts and due dates.

If you’re helping the student pay, ask them to log in to their Scape portal or share access with you. If anything looks unclear, the student should contact the Scape team so they can check the booking and guide them through the next step.
