Do I need a guarantor and what do they need to provide?

No, you do not need a guarantor to book with Scape.

This applies to all students, regardless of nationality, financial situation or where you are travelling from. You will not be asked to provide a UK guarantor, parent, guardian or another person to guarantee your rent as part of the standard Scape booking process.

What this means for you

  • No guarantor form: you do not need someone else to complete paperwork for your booking.
  • No UK-based guarantor needed: international students can book without arranging one.
  • No financial guarantor requirement: your booking is not dependent on someone else’s income or financial checks.

You will still need to meet Scape’s eligibility requirements. This means you must be a student, or have a course starting soon, and be aged 18 or over on your contract start date.
