Can someone view a room on my behalf?
Yes. A parent, guardian, friend or another trusted person can view a room on your behalf if you cannot visit in person.
This can be especially helpful if you are studying internationally, travelling from another city or still finalising your plans. The person viewing for you can ask questions, take notes and help you understand whether the room and building feel right for your needs.
Good things for them to check
- The room layout: including bed, desk, storage and bathroom setup.
- The kitchen: whether it is private or shared, depending on the room type.
- Study and social spaces: such as quiet areas, communal rooms and shared kitchens.
- Building facilities: laundry, bike storage, reception and any gym or outdoor space.
- Location: transport links and the journey to your university or campus.
The booking itself must still be made in the student’s name. If nobody can attend in person, contact the Scape team to ask whether a live video walkthrough or virtual viewing is available for your chosen building.
