Can I temporarily leave my room during my contract?
Yes, you can temporarily leave your room during your contract and return later. Your room remains yours during your agreement, so you are free to come and go as you need.
If you plan to be away for more than 28 days, you must notify your Residence Management team in writing. This helps Scape keep accurate records and make sure the team can support you properly while you are away.
Before you leave
- Tell the team how long you expect to be away and when you plan to return.
- Make sure your contact details and emergency contact information are up to date.
- Remove rubbish, food waste and anything that could spoil.
- Switch off lights and appliances at the socket where safe to do so.
- Close windows and check your door is locked.
Your rent and any payment obligations continue throughout your contract, even if you are not staying in the room for part of that time.
If your plans change while you are away, contact your building team or email bookings.uk@scape.com as soon as you can. They can advise you on the next step.
