Can I find someone to take over my contract?

Yes, you can find someone to take over your contract through Scape’s Suitable Replacement Person process.

This means you are responsible for finding an eligible student who can take over your room for the remaining duration of your contract. Scape must approve the replacement before anything changes, and your contract does not end until the replacement’s new agreement takes effect.

Who can be a suitable replacement?

• They must be a student: they need to meet Scape’s student eligibility requirements.
• They must take the remaining contract: the replacement contract cannot be shorter than the time left on your agreement.
• They must not already live in Scape accommodation elsewhere: the team will check eligibility before approving them.
• They must be approved by Scape: do not assume the transfer is agreed until Scape confirms it in writing.

A £350 administration fee applies to the outgoing student. Once you have found a possible replacement, email bookings.uk@scape.com with your booking details and the replacement student’s information. The team will explain the next steps and any payment or paperwork needed.
