Are there quiet hours in the building?

Scape does not set one single quiet-hours period for every building, but residents are expected to be considerate with noise at all times. Your room, shared flat and communal spaces are part of a wider community, so please think about the people living, studying and sleeping nearby.

As a guide, noise should not be audible outside your room. This includes music, gaming, video calls, conversations, visitors and anything else that could disturb other residents.

How to keep noise respectful

  • Keep volume low: especially late at night or early in the morning.
  • Use headphones: for music, films, gaming and calls where possible.
  • Be mindful in shared spaces: lounges, kitchens and corridors carry sound easily.
  • Speak to reception: if you are being disturbed or need help with a noise issue.

Excessive noise at any time, particularly late at night, may be treated as a breach of the Scape Code of Conduct. If the team asks you or your guests to reduce noise, please do so straight away.

If you are planning a gathering, check with reception first so they can advise what is appropriate.
